Not quite 1/2 cup of lard
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 3/4 cup flour
3 level teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chopped raisins
Cream shortening, add sugar and beaten egg. Sift flour, baking powder and spices and add to mixture. Add milk and stir well. Lightly flour raisins and add them to mixture. Fill cup cake tins 1/2 full and bake @ 375 for 20 - 25 minutes.
